This Privacy Policy explains how DerivCalc ("DerivCalc", "we", "us", or "our"), a tool operated by SilverCodeLabs, handles information when you visit derivcalc.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

Optional Google Analytics 4

With your permission, we use Google Analytics 4 to measure page visits and calculator interactions, such as successful calculations, errors, opening steps, and export clicks. Google receives technical information associated with these requests, including device/browser information and an IP address, and may set analytics cookies. We do not send typed expressions, student names, class names, or assignment fields in our analytics events. Page and referrer URLs sent to Analytics exclude query parameters and fragments.

Analytics is optional and remains unloaded until you choose Allow analytics. You can decline or withdraw using Analytics choices in the footer. We remember your choice in local browser storage for up to 180 days. Withdrawal disables tracking and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies on this site. Blocking or declining analytics does not prevent calculator use. Advertising remains paused; this choice does not authorize advertising personalization.

Google AdSense and advertising cookies

Advertising is currently paused while DerivCalc completes its publisher review, so the site does not load AdSense ad tags or request advertising cookies. If Google AdSense is enabled after approval, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to DerivCalc or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites.

Visitors can control personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. If additional certified third-party vendors or ad networks are enabled, this policy will identify them and link to their opt-out information before their tags are deployed. Consent choices required by applicable law will be presented before advertising storage is activated. DerivCalc will keep ads clearly separated from calculator inputs, answer buttons, navigation, and other interactive controls.

Information we collect

Information you enter

Mathematical expressions you type into the calculator are processed locally in your browser to produce results. Typed expressions are processed locally. If you open a shared calculator URL, its expression is included in the URL sent to our hosting provider. We exclude those query parameters from our Google Analytics events.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider and providers of fonts and mathematical typesetting assets may automatically receive standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring pages, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to operate, secure, and improve the Site and to deliver requested site assets.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. The calculator may use browser storage to remember local preferences. Advertising and session-recording scripts are currently disabled. External font and mathematical typesetting providers still receive technical request information when their assets load. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may affect how some features and ads function.

Analytics and Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity session recording is currently disabled across the Site. Google Analytics 4 is separately available only with your consent as described above. Any future session-recording service will require updated disclosures and applicable controls. Clarity may collect interaction data such as pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, device and browser information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and session-replay data. Microsoft processes this information under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Mathematical expressions entered into the DerivCalc calculator are processed locally and are not intentionally included in analytics events.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Advertising is currently paused: the Site does not load Google AdSense advertising scripts or display Google ad units. We retain an account-verification tag and ads.txt for publisher verification. Before enabling advertising, we will configure and test the applicable consent controls, including a Google-certified consent management platform for relevant European traffic. The following explains the choices available if Google advertising is enabled in the future.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet.

Third-party ad networks may also use cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons in the advertisements and links that appear on DerivCalc. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. We do not have access to or control over cookies used by third-party advertisers.

How we use information

Children's privacy

DerivCalc is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Data security

We take reasonable measures to protect the Site. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International visitors

The Site may be accessed from around the world. By using DerivCalc, you understand that information may be processed in countries that may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
